All I Want is A Part-Time Job
Tuesday, June 21, 2005
One of these days, I am sure to kill someone. In case you're interested why, I will explain. The past month has been a job hunt for me. I've applied at Target, Home Depot, Circuit City, Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath and Beyond, and numerous others. I also recieved a telephone call from Target, summoning me to an interview. I went to the interview and all seemed to go quite well as their front-end manager liked me. Suprisingly, three days after, I got a letter saying "We don't want you here. You're worthless and we don't need people like you around," except in a more professional manner. I spare the details.
You'd think that finding a job where I live would be easy, right? Not so. It would seem that every teenager would have been on the same quest, stealing all the jobs in front of me. I'm getting so frustrated with places, managers, and customer service reps. I've officially decided to find an alternative to Target, as horrible as that may seem. Hopefully I won't have to sink to the level of Wal-Mart.
Also, if anyone reading this has connections that could help me out, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll be screwed for college books. Loans aren't exactly fun, student or not.

MySpace is Like A Gateway Drug
Friday, May 27, 2005Being a recent convert to MySpace, it seems that my skepticism has dwindled. Not only that, but I've succumbed to yet another community website, and even another. I know, I know. I can be an awesome sell out sometimes. The thing is, I actually enjoy these sites. They amuse me like internet chats never could. There's only so much amusing that MSN Chat or NSM Chat can do for me. I know, it's time to reveal the names of these community pages, in case you didn't click the links, or are just too lazy to open the tabs. MySpace, the gateway; MyMusicPost, for musicans; TheFacebook, for college students around the country.
Anyways, if you're a college student, you should sign up for Facebook. It's really exclusive, unlike MySpace, but has all of the features of MySpace and more. Once you join, add me to your friends. I always enjoy meeting new blog readers.
The Phantom?
Monday, May 23, 2005
Those who have interest in this blog and ICS, you might be interested in reading this comment. I have narrowed the IP address of the comment down to the school, and the time when it was posted to 12:27 PM. The comment I've tracked was posted under the alias "The Phantom." If you have any information regarding the identity of this person, I have a great interest in any information of the possible poster.
UPDATE: Due to the time difference between school clocks and Haloscan's time, I have concluded that it was actually posted during fifth period. I have reason to believe it happened during Mr. Epps' Bible Class.
One Eight
Wednesday, May 11, 2005
Yeah, tomorrow. That's right, the 12th of May. I'll be expecting tons of presents and cash, if possible. Otherwise, use checks. DHL is a good way to go.Just kidding. I'm excited about my birthday because it's the largest and most important birthday (before I turn 21) because I'm no longer a minor. It's not like I gain any valuable priviledges now, considering that I can't drink until 21. Despite this, I can smoke, but here's the kicker - I can't buy cigarettes. Utah's law says that you can't buy cigarettes until you're 19 years of age. Wierd, isn't it? I'm suprised that hasn't ended up on DumbLaws yet. But, despite the fact that I now have that privilege, I won't be exercising it. Smoking is disgusting and pathetic.
Changing gears, I'd like to take this post to thank everyone who reads and/or contributes to this blog. You all mean a lot to me, and I hope you continue to do so. I only hope that I've been an inspiration or motivation for someone to write on a periodic basis.
Thank You.
New Feature
Wednesday, May 04, 2005I'm sure some of you have noticed my newest addition to my blog. I've added a prayer requests section, as I know many of my visitors have some Christian faith. If you feel led to pray for me, my requests are there. I'll probably update them as I feel led to. Thanks for all your support.
Advanced Placement Calculus Test
Monday, May 02, 2005Tomorrow morning I take probably the hardest test I've ever taken. The stark reality seems to be that I'm not as well prepared as I'd like to be. Calculus AB has been one of the only math classes that has ever been even slightly difficult. I am slightly nerveous, as the average AB student gets under a 3, (minimum passing grade, as the AP tests go on a scale from 1 to 5). Only 10% of the students end up with a 5 on the AB Calculus test. I'm hoping I'll at least end up with a 3. I'd appreciate any and all prayers, as this test will decide wether I receive college credit for the class or not. If I don't end up recieving college credit, this class could seem to be a complete waste, except for gaining Calculus knowledge that I will likely use in college. I thank everyone for their prayers.
Update: I've taken the test, and sections of it were incredibly difficult. I'm not expecting a 3, as my free-response answers were lacking.
Class of 2005 Trip
Friday, April 15, 2005
As of Monday until the following Monday, I will not be able to update my blog as I am going on a trip to Florida with my senior class. We will be hitting the usual places (Miami, Cocoa Beach, etc.) in addition to going snorkeling, swimming. Our entire trip isn't just for fun, though. We are doing service projects, like cleaning up environmentally protected beaches. The one part of the trip, or the one I'm anticipating to be the most entertaining and enjoyable is Grad Night. The Grad Night takes place in DisneyWorld, and they shut down the park early and make everyone leave so that the Class of 2005 can have all of DisneyWorld- to themselves. There is so much to do on this night. Besides the typical rides, GradNight features nightclubs (alcohol free, of course) with a dance floor with suds. Yes, foam bubbles to dance in.
Why Banning Homosexual Marriage Is Not Biblical
Sunday, April 10, 2005Food for thought:
The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (NIV, Mark 12:31)
For those of you who are against homosexual marriage, ask yourselves these questions:
1. Does God call us to love everyone?
2. As far as this verse is concerned, is the term "neighbor" exclusive to Christians?
If you answered no,
3. Is a homosexual supposed to be loved by Christians?
If you answered yes,
3. Where does the Bible say this?
(If you can answer this question, leave a comment specifying your answer.)
4. Is it wrong for Christians to hate homosexuals?
5. Imagine non-Christians pass a law banning Christianity. How would you feel?
6. Are Christians called to pass laws banning sin?
7. Are Christians expected to love (agape) homosexuals?
agape, used in the New Testament, is commonly known as "Christian love." It means respect, affection, benevolence, good-will and concern for the welfare of the one loved.Benevolence is defined as:
An inclination to perform kind, charitable acts.Take your response in question 5. Does it seem the same type of response that Homosexuals would have? If so, how is passing a law to ban homosexuality loving the person, or being kind or charitable towards them?
Jesus told us in the Great Commission,
"All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..." (Mt. 28:18-20 ASV).
One last question. Do these verses say anything about making laws to prevent sin? No. It merely states to make disciples of them, with Mark 12:31 saying to love them as well. These verses could not be contradictory, or the Bible would be false. Thus, we should love homosexuals and train them to be Christians. If God meant for them to be Christians, they will repent of their sins.
Fight Against Poverty and AIDS
Sunday, April 03, 2005Read the associated link before this post.

I'm planning on buying a 10 pack of these, the first 10 people that comment saying that they want one will get one, for $1.75, so that I can pay the shipping for the bands. I personally want one to show that I care more about the entire world than just our country. I have people who are so centered on "God Bless America." More correctly, it should be "God Forgive America." Our nation has killed, pillaged, and destroyed with the intent and viewpoint of "spreading democracy." In my mind, the real way to help the world is to end poverty and help stop the AIDS virus. If you want to help, and get a ONE band in the process, you can comment and I will try to get you a band, if you live somewhere near me (Salt Lake City).
UPDATE (4.13.2005): 5 requests already recieved. If you still want one of these bands, leave a comment. I will only distribute these bands to people who leave a comment on this post. ONLY FIVE REMAINING.

Monday, March 28, 2005Bigger than Terri Schiavo
Thursday, March 24, 2005
In the midst of the Terri Schiavo controversy, I have come to the conclusion that there is a bigger problem at hand. It involves more than just one person's life. In fact, it deals with the loss of over 1,700 lives and possibly more with those who are missing. Yes, I am talking about the Iraq War.
People are so angry and steaming with the Terri Schiavo controversy, but yet they're proud of their "President," who sends our troops out to kill and be killed. In terms of life lost, the Iraq War is bigger and more problematic than the Schiavo controversy. At the worst, how many people will die as a result of the Supreme Court? One. People talk about how the Schaivo case is mainly about money. As of 8:49 AM, the cost of the war is $158,196,453,262. If the court case is involving $5,000,000, that means the cost of the war in Iraq is about 31,000 (31639 exactly) times more than this case.Granted, her life is important. It will also set a precedent for cases like hers in the future. The war in Iraq is also setting a precedent. It sets in stone the idea that if something is suspicious, you can destroy an entire country, killing as you please, to try to find something that is merely a suspicion and does not exist. Do we want future Presidents invading England because he/she thinks that they may have had something that could harm the United States, like truth? This is just as ridiculous as President Chimpy invading Iraq, searching for something that really does not exist. Are we really that self-centered that we only try to stop threats to our country?
UPDATE: Interested where I got the money spent on Iraq? This site includes that, plus a comparison to what that money could have done, if put into something more constructive and useful to society.
Some Things I'm Drooling Over
Saturday, March 19, 2005If you look at the "Associated Link" above this, you will see several of the items that are now on my wishlist from Target. Below I'll include the specific ones I like most. I really like them all, but these ones are the coolest.

Ex-Korn Guitarist Finally at Peace
Tuesday, March 15, 2005In a story from CBN News,
"The lead guitarist for the heavy metal group Korn recently shocked the music world when he announced that he was leaving the band.Isn't that amazing? The power of God works in amazing ways. Welch was on what seems to be the other end of the spectrum of lifestyle, and he suddenly turns 180 degrees to become a Christian. He led a fairly worldly life,
Brian Welch had become a born-again Christian. He followed his announcement with a trip to Israel, where he was baptized in the Jordan River. "
Welch said, "I've done hard drugs, I've done soft drugs. I've seen everything. I've done what teenagers dream about, especially guys. I've seen all that, and no drug or nothing compares with walking with the Lord."
God works in amazing ways to change peoples' lives in just a matter of minutes, much like Brian Welch's life. I am excited to hear some of the Christian music he says he will begin making.
Bells and Ensemble Tour 2005
Saturday, March 12, 2005My school has a tradition of taking their vocal ensemble (Proclaim) and handbell choir (His Design) on a annual tour used for outreach as well as to perform for people where a handbell choir would not usually be seen. This year, we traveled through New Mexico and Arizona, performing at churches and schools on Zuni, Hopi, and Navajo Indian Reservations. I took a great deal of photographs, ranging from people to scenery to symbols. If you're at all interested in how the tour went, be sure to check out the link above.

Blogger Pop-Up Commenting
Wednesday, February 16, 2005After trying this new feature out, I've come to the conclusion that Haloscan still is better than Blogger's new commenting setup. Despite the ability to show people's pictures, I still like being able to ban IP addresses, and use Gravatars. A gravatar is basically a universal display picture that thousands of websites will now be able to utilize based on your e-mail address. As you probably have noticed by now, I have added a gravatar to my commenting at Haloscan. Check it out at the commenting link below if you have any questions as to what a gravatar is and what it does.
There Is No Crisis
Monday, February 07, 2005Mr. Bush is a liar. Social Security is no crisis.
Vice President Cheney acknowledged yesterday that the federal government would need to borrow trillions of dollars over the next few decades to cover the cost of the personal retirement accounts at the heart of President Bush's plan to restructure Social Security. How is this going to help Security? Simply, it won't. The plan under Chimpy is going to result in a greater budget deficit, not a lesser one like he claimed he would make.
Protecting the Constitution?
Thursday, February 03, 2005“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
—United States Constitution, Article II, Section 1, Clause 8

President Bush uttered these words on January 20, 2005. He pledged to preserve democracy.
Preserve: To keep in perfect or unaltered condition; maintain unchanged.
Interesting how Bush pledged to amend the Constitution in a manner that which would make homosexual marriage null and void. Two conflicting statements makes for a hypocrite. Bush is not only a bigot, but also a full blown hypocrite.
Microwaving Iraq
Wednesday, January 26, 2005Ever wondered what ULF, VLF and UHF radiation does to the human brain? Apparently the army knows. While reading letter sent to politicians and leaders in our government, I stumbled across this:
And you though nuclear missles were something to be afraid of. Large military powers now have these "poppers" in their possesion. The effects of these radiation generating domes are disasterous, causing:
While the mobile microwave weapons currently deployed in Iraq may or may
not lead to lasting harm, rooftop "poppers" and "domes" left to radiate
for days at a time are irradiating unsuspecting families already coping
with illness, wounds, hunger and the stress of losing homes and loved
ones, whose rotting corpses cannot be buried under the sights of marine
snipers.
A preview of what lies in store for long-suffering families in Iraq can
be gleaned from Greenham Common, where the British Army reportedly used
an electromagnetic weapon against 30,000 women who had camped for nearly
two decades around that UK military base to protest the deployment of
nuclear-tipped US cruise missiles.
swollen tongues, changed heartbeats, immobility,These types of weapons, in my modest opinion, are the types of weapons utilized that are the most inhumane weapons. War is no longer directed towards the enemy, but now the children and women of Iraq. As a Christian, I strongly urge my fellow Christians to pray for a quick removal of troops in Iraq. As an American, my civil duty is to voice my dissent about our government, military, and society. I believe that the war in Iraq has become an unjust war. President Bush has turned a manhunt into a war for what he calls "democracy." On NBC, I was watching the news about the election day in Iraq. Not only have 700 voting employees quit for fear of their lives, but also now a new political figure in Iraq is aiming to "remove the Americans." He is quite well supported by the Shiite Muslims, and could likely take the government by the reigns and again start the cycle of tyranny, replacing one tyrant with another anti-American leader. Mr. Bush has mistaken the goal of this war. The original goal of heading to the Middle East was to remove Saddam Hussein, and capture/kill Osama Bin Laden. Now that Hussein is out of power, the only remaining goal should have been to take care of Bin Laden. But, once again, our government has failed us, lied to us, and continued an increasingly unpopular war. My message to the President: Get Osama Bin Laden, and get out of Iraq.
feelings of terror, pains in the upper body.

In Case You Were Wondering...
For those of you who regularly read my blog, you have probably questioned the inactivity of this blog. Well, I have an answer. I've been photo-blogging now for a while, and finally found a template/blog design that I can deal with for a while. Feel free to surf on over to Halo Productions and comment on the pictures I take. I'm going to try to take some more artistic pictures, rather than just pictures of people. If you have suggestions for places, objects, or areas, just let me know. I'll make sure to give you due credit if I use it.
No, God Does NOT Hate Homosexuals
Sunday, January 23, 2005Thanks to Ashley for this topic.
Recently at a special event at my school called TGE Day (Through God's Eyes Day), I went to a seminar titled, "God, Hate, and Homosexuality." The seminar was very interesting. Although the speaker, Pastor Bill Young of the Salt Lake City Rock, had some things to say that I disagreed with, he spoke well and kept my interest. He introduced the topic with a DVD from interviews of people roaming downtown Salt Lake City. Many of them thought that homosexuals should have some rights to practice what they believe is right. Another view of some homosexuals is that they think that homosexuality is genetic, and cannot be changed. In some ways, I disagree with the theory that it's genetic. I believe God made man to want a relationship with a woman. It is blasphemy to speak otherwise. Although God created man to be as I mentioned, I do believe somewhere along the line, the person has been pushed away or driven to choose homosexuality as a fall-back.

On a similar topic, I think that homosexuals should have their rights, which include to do as they wish (sexually), to marry as they like, and to make decisions for themselves. Many fundamentalist Christians would say that homosexuals don't have those rights. Anyone who says so is a hypocrite. Where does the Constitution of the United States of America specify that? Also, they are being just as bigoted as the anti-homosexuals that rant and rave on street corners with signs about how all homosexuals are going to Hell. Where is the love? God tells us to love everyone, not just those who practice what we deem to be acceptable. That means homosexuals, goths, punks, and whatever labels society places upon people. It is completely unacceptable for a Christian to discriminate and use labels such as the ones mentioned above. It is a known fact that God loves everyone, not just

No More Spyware? California is Lucky
Saturday, January 01, 2005Fines for Spyware in California
AND
US Seeks to Fine Spyware Makers
With four new bills going through Congress to prevent Spyware, California's governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has finally accomplished something worthwhile besides persecuting immigrants. Through his administration, he has approved a law that is now in action in California. This law, if enforced, could result in the destruction of companies who persist in using Spyware to gain information about people and their activities on their computers. The fine for the California law allows someone who has been attacked by spyware to seek up to $1,000 in damages from the group that creates the spyware.
What is spyware? This page includes some valuable information about spyware.
If you know you have Spyware, Adware, or other Malware, I suggest you get Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition. It's a great piece of software that removes all of the above listed threats in order to keep your information and computer safe.
Christmas Ideas
Thursday, December 16, 2004I've recently found this wonderful website that is selling anti-Bush pins, pro-Kerry pins, as well as peace pins. In case anyone is reading this wants to get me a Christmas present, some of these would be awesome for my backpack.
MSN Spaces
Thursday, December 02, 2004Interesting how Microsoft decides to attempt to make a duplicate of Blogger. I've just signed up just to see how it compares to Blogger, and it's definitely not as great. Microsoft will probably end up advertising the hell out of MSN Spaces, to the point that it becomes just as bad as those stupid e-mails you get about increasing your storage in Hotmail inboxes. I wish Microsoft would just give up. They'll never have a superior Blogging tool. Blogger happens to be the most versatile and customizeable way to have a blog. You can see what MSN Spaces looks like here.
Iraq as the Lusitania, The United States as Germans
Tuesday, November 02, 2004
Picture a great number of people contained on a ship known as the Lusitania. The people aboard are completely innocent. Then picture a German U-boat threating to attack the ship based on the suspicion that there are military fighters aboard the ship who have made military threats toward Germany. The German U-boat sinks the ship, killing thousands of innocent people, and doing all for the sake of suspicion.
This is much like the case of Iraq. Iraq, as shown here, has No weapons of mass destruction, as was falsely reported by Bush. The United States attacked Iraq, based on suspicions. Just as the German U-Boat had sunk the Lusitania, the United States is sinking Iraq into a situation much worse than they started in. Interesting how that works, when we were supposedly "liberating."
The Problem with Utah
Monday, November 01, 2004Utah is attempting to show that they have no tolerance for any family that differentiates from the standard with their "Amendment 3." The majority of uneducated Utah Conservatives support this Amendment, mostly because they think that a sort of evil is penetrating our bubble of a society. The sad thing is, the LDS church claims to be tolerant, but they are contradicting themselves with the statement of "secretly" endorsing this Amendment. They belive they are keeping gays and lesbians from being able to be married in Utah, and also preventing their marriages from being valid in Utah. In reality, they are going to cause much more damage than that. Utah law already does not permit gay/lesbian marriages here, so why do they still want to amend the Utah constitution? I believe that Utah is trying to make a statement which displays the fact that UTAH HATES HOMOSEXUALS. The Amendment will prevent people who aren't homosexuals from recieving benefit. Suppose there are two sisters, one of which is widowed, the other who is single. Neither of the women are lesbians, but rather are just sisters. The widowed sister has children, and her sister helps in taking care of the children. The proposed amendment will prevent the sister who stays home to take care of the children from taking any benefit from the working sister's health insurance. The children are also left out to dry because with this amendment, only a man and a wife with children will be able to recieve benefit from the insurance company. This is an example of a family that will be hurt by this amendment, and yet people still persue the amendment passionately.
In conclusion, I strongly urge anyone who is undecided on the issue to research the facts, and choose for themself.
Guitarist Central
Sunday, October 24, 2004I've recently created a new blog, designed for the guitarist. I've titled it Guitarist Central and if you'd like to check it out, the address is

Political Debates
Tuesday, October 05, 2004My government teacher recently assigned a debate research assignment so that we can debate a policy of one of the Presidential candidates. I noted that the first Presidential Debate was about foreign policy, which just happens to be my topic for the Debate at school. I am debating Kerry's foreign policy not as if I was Kerry, but as a supporter. I'd like some information regarding what I should use as some of my information. I have pulled the entire transcript of the debate. I'm going to sift through the transcript in order to understand the general policy of John Kerry. If you have any suggestions for debate arguements and rebuttals to Bush arguements, feel free to post them in a comment. Thanks for your help.
UPDATE:
I won my debate for my government and economics class. The turnout was about 80 people, which is pretty large for a school like ICS. The votes for this topic are below:
Kerry (Sawyer) - 40
Bush (Peter) - 34
That comes to a six vote victory. Hopefully Kerry will win with a greater margin that I did. Thanks to everyone who sent me e-mails or posted comments.
The All Spin Zone
Monday, October 04, 2004Recently, I received an e-mail from my brother Forrest who runs American Bodhisattva. He mentioned that a large political blog had made some comments on a great deal of work that Forrest did for his blog. Forrest had retrieved the results of a huge number of poles regarding who people thought won the debates on foreign policy. The task was obviously painstakingly completed over a large period of time. If you'd like to check out the blog, click here.
Additional Authors?
Wednesday, September 29, 2004I'm beginning to think that I'm going to choose some more authors, with similar interests, to post to my blog. If you're interested in writing here, you can e-mail me with your name, age, and some general information about you and also your political beliefs. You may also put in a comment on this topic that you'd like to write for my blog, including the same information as listed above. I'd like to have someone with about the same beliefs as I do write in my blog with me, if at all possible. I'm also interested to see how it would work having two people write on one blog, with a similar style and/or ideas. I'm probably not going to make any formatting changes soon, so if you're contemplating applying so that you could change my blog (formatting, colors, etc), it might be a good idea not to apply. I may also create a duplicate of my blog for the purpose of still having a personal blog for myself. If you're at all interested, comment this post or e-mail me.
SYATP
Thursday, September 16, 2004SYATP. For those of you who don't know what that means, check out this site. The basic event is going to your school's flagpole on a Wednesday on September, it's usually the second Wednesday. This year it took place on the 15th. As I am a part of Intermountain Christian School's Peer Leadership Team, we are expected to go to a local public school and assist them with the See You At The Pole. We usually start a half an hour before the school starts, though some groups choose to start earlier or later. This year, as well as last year, I attended Brighton High School's SYATP at 7:00 AM. It was a little chilly, and I was quite suprised to find that we had over fourty people show up to pray for the school, the nation, and the students at the school, as well as any other concerns. After the Brighton SYATP concluded, I headed back to ICS to their SYATP, where we numbered over thirty. Overall and nationwide, this event has had great success. Just about everything you can buy on the SYATP website is out of stock. Isn't God great? Also through this event, I got to witness to a friend of mine at Brighton who is currently a member of the LDS Church.

Alter Bridge
Monday, August 23, 2004I bought a new CD this week. The artist is Alter Bridge, with their new album being titled One Day Remains. Check out their website here. You can watch their new music video as well as look at the information about the band. The band is on a fairly well-known label, Wind-Up. I would highly suggest anyone to check at least the song "Open Your Eyes." It's a good, meaningful song. You will be pleasantly suprised.

Big Brother Bush for President in 1984
Tuesday, August 17, 2004
I decided to post this on A Hero Lost.
Keep in mind the Republican distorted view on this:
MRS. JOHN KERRY OF THE HEINZ FAMILY
Do you find it strange that Kerry's wife is never with him? Do you find
it strange that you never hear any thing about her? This may be why.
As time goes on, we're just getting to know the possible future First Lady
of the United States of America, and it is quite interesting. You'll be
hearing even more about Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic
front-runner.
She has quite a track record, especially when it comes to the causes she
donates to.
One of her favorite charities is the Tides Foundation. What is that, you
ask? This foundation sends hundreds of millions of dollars to groups that
protested the invasion of Iraq; that demands open U.S. borders; and
provides legal defense for suspected terrorists.
Among other groups supported by Kerry's wife: Ramsey Clark's
international Action Center. This is the same Ramsey Clark that offered to defend Saddam Hussein. Another group seeks to ease restrictions on immigration from
terrorist nations. Another group has links to the terrorist group Hamas.
And on and on.
American jobs are OUTSOURCED by John F. Kerry and his wife Teresa Heinz-Kerry!
We need to ask: Why not manufacture in America and ship finished products overseas? How many American workers are in these Heinz overseas factories?

And here is my response to that forward, sent to me by a friend of mine.
This e-mail is response to the accusations that John Kerry's wife is supporting outsourcing as well as protecting terrorists, both ridiculous accusations. In case you haven't noticed, Heinz is an INTERNATIONAL company. Thus, it should be permissible to have jobs overseas. Not to mention that Teresa Kerry has only a small amount of influence in the company. She no longer owns it, but rather only has a say in it's business endeavors. Regardless, the company wasn't originally started in the United States, so that takes away your arguement at that point. Also, your claims that Kerry's wife donates money that supposedly protects terrorists is merely something the Republicans have thought up in order to try to keep the soon-to-be victorious Kerry from winning the vote. Have you noticed that the Republicans are the only ones slinging dirt? Doesn't that tell you something about their political tactics as well as their morals? Where as Kerry prefers to have politics be more about what good each leader could bring to the country, rather than sling dirt and try to make their opponent look bad. Besides, anything that Bush has just claimed he is going to do to "help the country" is oddly timed with the election year. Has anyone else noticed that? Bush also says that he is going to spread peace throughout the world. Wait a minute, didn't he just invade Iraq and cause more fighting? That statement doesn't really make any sense. But even if you're still stuck on supporting Bush, than vote George W. Bush for 1984. Our future might as well become that book by the way Bush seems to use the "Patriot Act" against our own citizens to unrightfully jail people who are only tied to the terrorists by their race or ethnic background. Doesn't that seem to be bigoted, racist as well as intolerant? I think so. I just thought I'd send you my modest opinion after your anti-Kerry e-mail was sent around. Forward this to those who were on the last e-mail listing.

Vacation to the NorthWest
Sunday, August 08, 2004I will not be posting for the next week, from Tuesday until Sunday afternoon, under regular conditions. I may be able to post while I'm on my vacation. Other than that, A Hero Lost will be fairly idle. I'll be relaxing at the amazingly beautiful NorthWest. I'll see if I can get some nice pictures to upload once I get back.
I also promised a friend that I'd post a link to his MSN Community. If you'd like to check it out, it's a teen-centered community with fully functional message boards, picture gallery, and chat room. Check it out HERE
Another Episode of: The United States Ignores the United Nations
Tuesday, July 20, 2004Once again, the United States doesn't comply with the standards set in place by the United Nations. Does this seem like the UN matters to the United States?
Fourty-eight countries, some of which are members of the European Union, have asked the United States Supreme Court to halt the execution of 73 teens (story here). You can read the whole story at the previous link.
The ironic thing is, a certain country has interest in these teens because three of them are nationals of their country. Any guess as to which country?
Answer
I agree with the countries that wish to have the execution of teenagers stopped. It's inhumane to even have people who are adults executed, even if it is swift and painless. I don't believe in the death sentence.
To also express my opinion, I think the United States, who happens to have a large and powerful hand in the United Nations, should follow their own rules. If they have any hope of United Nations helping them out in the near future, they should abide by those rules and guidelines set up. In cases like the "Liberation of Iraq," the United States needs as much help as they can get.
Photographers = Tacky?
Sunday, July 18, 2004While recently attending a wedding of a friend, It came to my attention that photographers' sole purpose is to be as annoying as possible. While the ceremony was in full swing, photographers were snapping photos, running around, blocking as many people's line of vision as possible. Don't get me wrong, the work photographers do is great, but when they create such annoyances and problems, they need to go. Just my thoughts on a small problem.
Dumb Laws
Saturday, July 17, 2004In this time and age,
you would expect politicians to be at work destroying countries and
slaughtering innocent civilians in some seemingly hostile Arab
country. Those expectations have been flushed down the ol'
crapper. Politicians have lost their minds, if they even have any
to begin with, and authored these ridiculous laws.
